Alhikam 22 Ogos 2019

Ibnu gayyim.
Tanda org yg mengharapkan Allah
1) Tinggi harapan
- cinta apa yang diharapkan
Harapan agar Allah pandang kita - redha
Diiktiraf sbg hamba Allah
_ hatta, beri makan kucing
Kalau bela kucing sebab

Imem ghazali berkata bahagia
Saat kamu mampu menakluk nafsu kamu.

MUJAHADAH.
- S. Abu Bakar cintakan Rasulullah (manisnya selawat dirasa melalui cinta)
S. Abu Bakar dipukul. Seorang pembesar
Quraisy mempunyai sebuah kasut yang dipanaskan dan dipukul muka S Abu Bakar sehingga patah hidungnya. Darah memenuhi perut S Abu Bakar.
rumahnya. Petang, baru beliau sedar. Ummul
Khayr, ibunya ingin menyuapkan makanan dan minuman. 'Macamana keadaan
Rasulullah?' beliau bertanya berulang-ulang.
Bawalah aku pergi kepadanya. 'Aku perlu lihat sendiri kerana aku telah bernazar tidak makan setitik makanan sehingga aku tahu keadaan Baginda.
- Antara tanda taubat diterima adalah
tiada kaitan daripada harta haram
samada mencari /menguruskannya

bab uzlah

'A chapter in cutting yourself give peaceness of heart than bad company'

Nasaih p 333
- relationship and love
1) whenever somebody loves this person and keep their company
2) the person is not saliheen but helps you in obedient to Allah. This is love from Allah
3)
4) purely duniyawi - mubah
5) he helps to do zulm / wrong and mischief, this love is ugly. It is blameworthy and will lead to enormisity - 'Al-akhila'i yawma izin 'aduwun illal muttaqun'

Allah (Glory be to Him) has told us about those bad companies and they will divorce themselves from one another in the Hereafter. Allah says:"Friends on that Day will be foes one to another except Al-Muttaqûn (the pious)"

Of what has been said concerning this Ayah is:`Ali ibn Abu Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated concerning Allah's saying:"Friends on that Day will be foes one to another except Al-Muttaqûn (the pious)."It is the example of two believing and two disbelieving friends. When one of the believers died and was given glad tidings with Paradise, he mentioned his friend and said:O Allah, if my friend is commanding me with Your obedience and the obedience of your Messenger and commands me of good, forbids me from committing sins and reminds me of Your encounter, do not mislead him after me until You show him what You have shown me and be pleased with him as You were pleased with me. It will be said to him:"go! If you were to know what I have saved for him, you would laugh a lot and cry little." Then, the other person dies and their souls meet. It will be said to them:Let each one of you praise the other. Each one will say to his friend:How good companion and friend you were. However, when one of the disbelievers die, he will be given bad tiding with Hell. Then he would remember his friend saying:O Allah, my friend used to command me of disobeying You and Your Messenger. He commanded me of evil and forbad me from good and informed me that I won't meet You. O Allah, do not guide him after me until You show him what You have shown me and exasperate him as You exasperated me. When the other person dies, their souls meet. Then, it will be said:Let each one of you praise the other. Each one will say to the other:How bad company and bad friend you were.[Reported by `Abdul-Razzaq and `Abd ibn Humayd in their interpretations of the Qur'an].

Risalatul Mu'awana intro 08/05, 1/11/09 (p2), 13/12/09, 4/6/11 (p3)

- Habib Ali HafizahuLlah said read Book of Assistance as group of individuals as hearts become firmer, it will bring bond of love and love for Allah.
Habib Umar HafizahuLLah: make sure you are never calling to an individual except RasuluLlah sallaLlahu alayhi wasallam. Don't call to people and make differentiation in the community.
- traditional islam: recognising the pious predecessor, recognising their sacrifice. Wisdom, fair exhortation - qur'an and sunnah (don't go on side issues). When someone asked Habib Ahmad RahmatuLLahi 'alayh to give a talk, he said 'khuz min bukhari' 3x
- call to the Qur'an with the method of sunna

- true 'ulama: felicity written for them. inheritor from the prophet from two ahadith.
Abud-Dardaa (radyAllaahu ‘anhu) reported: “I heard the Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) say: ‘Whoever treads a path due to which he seeks knowledge, Allaah will make him tread one of the paths towards Paradise. And the angels lower their wings out of contentment for the seeker of knowledge. And verily all those in the heavens and in the earth, even the fish in the depths of the sea ask forgiveness for the scholar. And verily, the virtue of the scholar over the worshipper is like the virtue of the moon on the night of Al-Badr over all of the stars. Indeed, the scholars are the inheritors of the prophets, for the prophets do not leave behind a dinar or a dirham for inheritance, but rather, they leave behind knowledge. So whoever takes hold of it, has acquired a large share (i.e. of inheritance).’”

‘The scholars are the inheritors of the prophets?’ The prophets do not leave behind any inheritance except knowledge, and the knowledge of our Prophet r is his Sunnah. So whoever is deprived of learning it is not from the inheritors of the prophets.”

- (Qul - command to rasulilLlah salaLlahu 'alayhi wasallam, x11:108)
- taba'ni = one after the next. if we don't take it from tabi'een then we might have outward Islam.
can't pass knowledge except correct imitation of the generation before 'husni ittiba'. 'wa man tabi'ani' = chain from RasuluLlah salaLlahu 'alayhi wasallam.

Imaam Ibn Seereen (rahimahullaah) said: 'Indeed, This knowledge Is Deen, So Look To The One You Take Your Deen From

- Amma ba'du: first one who say amma ba'du is S Hasyim, the orrator of Quraisy. He'll praise Allah in Ka'bah and said amma ba'du.
S Hasyim - established himself as the leader of Quraisy, hence Arab. In the time of Jesus, leader of Arab is Adnan. S Hasyim can give speeches in pure arabic.

- faqir = pauper, poor servant. from latin; poor, english; under poor law - poor people under the parish, implies dependency
origin - radia - low, poor quality, one who lower themselves, humble, don't have enough to support dependant.
'antumul fuqara ilaLlah': being in need
'khuliqal insanu dhaifa'
Syeikh related the story of a king who is travelling in his land. He saw a man sitting under a tree after working hard. He was singing,'water and bread and shade.. this is the ultimate in blessings'. The king was troubled hearing this. The next day, he asked his servant to bring the man and the man asked him 'would you give half of your kingdom if you are thirsty?'..... everything you have is not more valuable than a glass of water and a glass of urine'.
- du'a mukhul ibadah: should be in total need eg du'a istisqa' (rain prayer)
“O Allah, make me fear You as if I see You, make me happy with my being pious to You, do not make me wretched by Your disobedience, choose for me the best of Your decrees, and bless Your fate to me so that I may not like to hasten what You have delayed, or to delay what You have hastened, and make my richness be in my soul.” Al-Mu’jam al-Awsat, vol. 6 p. 121
rewards: 'yadkhulu fuqara' before aghniya' to Jannah one day ie 500 years. Related by Imam Bukhari on the chapter of Fadhlul Fuqara', Ibnu Majah in the chapter of 'Station for destitute'. He said which means: "I saw Paradise (in laylatul isra') and I saw many residents are fuqara '(the poor) and I look to the Fire, I saw many residents are women." (Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

- mu'tarif = confessing. In church, once a year. Apparently from Prophet Jesus and say to the apostle - breath your confession. Confession in Islam = faqir.
That's why the dars finish with Ya Rabbana'tarafna... 'Innama yakhsyaAllahu 'ulama'
Ya Rabbi Ya 'alimal Haal, Qad kafani - admitting your state, then we can move foward.
Sayyidul istighfar (Bukhari): abu'u laka = i'tiraf, wa'taraftu zanbi

- 'afwa = wind in the desert, wipe out all traces

- sharif = linguistically: top of the mountain, someone top in the community

- jama'a = gathers together

- if someone saw something wrong in the community and not change it, I'm afraid that Allah will punish the whole community

- mau'izatul hasana = methodology, style and approach applicable to community. Hikma - AlQur'an. Mau'izoh - Hadith

- some knowledge are more relevant now eg travelling from sunset to sunrise in one day. eg when fitna come to masjid, stay in the house (fighting in the masjid, pray at home)

Ibn ‘Adi mentions a hadith that the Prophet, peace upon him, said:
Should I not inform you of the most generous of all? Allah is the most generous of all, and I am the most generous of humanity. After me the most generous person is a man who learns something beneficial and disseminates it. He will be resurrected on the Day of Ressurection as an individual nation. Likewise, is a man who gives his life in the way of Allah. (Ibn ‘Adi, al-Kamil, 1:350). A teacher will have generousity and love to their students and have smile on their face.

Allahumma alhimni rusydi,. Wa a'izni min syarri nafsi.(protection from big and small shirk)

- Imam Haddad use the word you for 1) for himself 2) to sadah 3) to us

- taubikh = threat, big deep warning, slap on the wrist.(2:44)  Ata'murunan Naasa bil birr = istifham altaubikh. do you not expecting answer. Asbabun nuzul: bani nadir, one of the in-law became muslim. The Jewish said 'yes, you are in good religion and you should be steadfast'.
Afala ta'qiloon
1) animal: aqala = put rope in the neck, take control and ride on it. According to traditional tafseer: Albagahawi etc - do you not restrain the beast?
2) do you not understand?

"A man will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and thrown into the Fire.  Then his entrails will be spilled out into the Fire (his reality will be manifested) and he will be forced to walk around and around like a donkey in a treadmill.  The people of Hell will gather around him and say, ‘O so-and-so, what is wrong with you?  Did you not enjoin us to do good and forbid us to do wrong?’  He will say, ‘I used to order you to do good, but I did not do it and I used to forbid you to do evil, but I used to do it myself.’  Then he will walk around and around like a donkey in a treadmill." Sahih Bukhari, sahih muslim

-  the scholars who knows but not act upon it is like candle...
- (asyaddu in Day of Judgement are scholars, tabrani, bayhaqi)
- Abu Darda': 'waylun liman lam ya'lamu mar'ah wa waylun liman 'alima but not act upon it 1000 times. Wayl = valley in Jahannam
-(Tustari: all people are in drunkedness except 'ulama, every 'ulama are confused except those who act on their knowledge)

- From Bidayatul Hidayah, read the text, here I point to the beginning of guidance (Qabiltu isyarah), accepting the book is the beginning of the path. Habib Umar HafizahuLlah said the beginning is bidayah and the inayah is ihya'.
3 types of students of knowledge
1) Rajulun Talibul Ilm who take knowledge as mean so that he has provision for next world and countenance of His Lord = successful. no other desire except for the next world.
2) Rajulun who seeks benefits in this world, status and wealth, and he knows this and he is in danger. Perhaps, he should fear for su'ul khatimah. If he did tawbah and start acting with what he knew, tahaquq bil faizeen because those who repent from sin are like someone who didn't have sin at all.
3) The one syaitan tricked and overwhelmed him, goes out to make living out of knowledge and he wants to be proud of it (tafakkhur) - boasting how many followers he had, wear sign of 'ulama and he speaks like 'ulama, means to gather wealth, minal halikeen, forgotten ' lima taqooloo ma la taf'aloon.'
Abu Dhar said, "I was with the Prophet (SAW) one day and I heard him saying: "There is something I fear for my Ummah than the Dajjal." It was then that I became afraid, so I said: "Oh Rasool Allah! Which thing is that?" He (SAW) said; "Misguided and astray scholars." [Musnad Ahmad (5/145) No. 21334 and 21335]
How can it be? Ulama su'  is worst as dajjal tricked people whereas scholars deceive people by his action and ahwalihi. Lisanul haal afsahu min lisanil aqwal
So be from 1) and not 3)

Habib Abdullah Al-Haddad (nafa'anaAllahu bihi fid darayn) at the end of his life, he does not want to eat meat that he will be asked. He was very thin and passed away emaciated. He had cloth just enough to cover his body.

(Abu darda: curse be the one who doesn't learn and curse 1000x to the one who learn but does not act)

ajwad = wind

a man asked Habib Abdullah for advice for his deen
Habib Attas left Yamen and student wrote to him, now that you have left us, the deen is more difficult for us. He wrote a book for them.(Salik salatil saada?). His name is AbuBakar. Communist stopped the plane trying to find Habib Attas but he went to Jeddah and died 25 years later.

Habib Muhammad AlHaddad used to study with his feet dangling on the roof top so he won't lose concentration. if he fell down, he die

syahawat: passion can be positive. 'la yu'minu ahadukum hatta hawahu in acc to what I've brought (lima ji'tu ni). Hawa - passion is positive in here. Something negative can be positive by training.
S Yusuf said 'I do not claim innocent for myself'
Some said it's the amir because they do not judge in hasten. ma rahima rabbi - ma use as man. Baghawi, ma taba lakum - malaika. The bad passion becomes angelic
getting married is from sunnah - fankihu ma taba lakum
nafs become purify by following sunnah
La uqsimu binnafsi lawwamah - high state - reproachful nafs
nafsu mutmainah - radhiya mardhiyah - peace, satisfaction, satisfied
taba': imprint, ithma - saved from evil, shown mercy
Sahl altustari - taba' creation (khalq). people are miniature of great creation as sign fil afaq wa fi anfusikum - people are the greates of creation
1) animal: eg batn wal farj
2) syaitan and laibu (wahm?) makhru alkhida
3) taba'a sakhra - magician and plotting, TV internet imprint in something pure
4) iblis - rejection and pride
solah - connected with fasting - stop from animalistic passion

malaika; nahnu nuqadisuka wa nuqadisu lak (nasiha wa insafi wa tafadul)
in egypt, a syeikh pulling donkey with him on him, lots of people stop him and say salam and tafadul
al-quds: the One is beyond any possibility of having a fault. Taqdis - recognising His Qudus
Subbuhul qudus - tasbih wa tafdil - after witir, time angle change

'if you want to defeat 70 syaitan, give sadaqah'
wa nafsi wa ma zakaha, qad aflaha man zakaha: by giving zakat.. giving from who you are to the one that Allah asks us to. Zakat 1) compulsory 2) not compulsory - smile, cooking for family.. this will overcome nafs

subuhul qudus - du'a during sujud in adzkar

Habib Ahmad asked his grandson to send a scarf to Habib Muhammad bin Alwi AlMaliki 'intifal amr'. Habib Muhamad almaliki gave everything in his bag and a book

Nafs
1) Nafs amarah bi su'
2) Nafs lawamah - blaming oneself
3) Nafs mulhama - fa alhamaha fujuraha
4) nafs mutmainah
5) nafs radhiya - Allah please
6) nafs mardhiya
7) nafs kamila - perfect soul

Basmala

no mu'min read basmala except that the land will make tasbih with him

Abu Uraida, 'before you start your wudhu, say Basmala, angle will write a lot of hasanaat until you finish your wudu'.

BAsmala is the key to Qur'an - we need the mercy of Allah for every state Ar Rahman: Only for Allah, 1 Rahmah
Ar Rahim: all in the world, 100 Rahmah, when not been asked, for repentance

Basmala have 19 letters, each letter will protect from the 19 angles guarding the Hellfire (Ibnu Kathir)

Basmala have 4 words; with these words Allah will forgive 4 types of sins: day, night, secretly and openly

Basmala protect from the look of Jinn, on the authority of Sayidina Ali (HR Tarmidzi 606)

Lawh-al Mahfooz ('preserved plate', tablet of God's decrees preserved to the end of time) and qalem (the pen which Allah has pre-recorded the actions of men) are the first things that Allah Ta'ala created. He (Jalla Jalaluh) ordered to qalem (pen) and qalem wrote everything that will happen untill the Day of Judgement. “Bismi-llahi r-rahmani r-rahim” is the first that qalem wrote on the Lawn-al Mahfooz (Preseved Plate). Allah Ta'ala rendered basmalah security for the creatures -as long as they continue to recite-. Those who are in the seven layers of the heavens also recite basmala. When basmalah was revelaed to Hadrat/Prophet Adam (a.s.), he said “My descendants are secured from punishment as long as they continue to recite basmalah.”
Afterwards, basmalah was revealed to Hadrat Ibrahim (a.s.). When Nimrod put him on the catapult, he recited basmalah, Allah Ta'ala rendered the heat of the fire cool and safe for him.
Afterwards, basmalah was revealed to Hadrat Musa (a.s.). Hadrat Musa destoreyed Pharaoh and the magicians with basmalah. Afterwards, basmalah was revealed to Hadrat Sulaiman (a.s.). Angles to him “O ye Sulaiman, today your kingdom is completed.”
When Allah Ta'ala revealed basmalah to Hadrat Sulaiman, He (JJ) commanded that “Announce to your people that whoever wants to hear Allah's ayah of safety shall come to Sulaiman.”
When all of them arrived, Hadrat Sulaiman climbed to the minbar and recited the ayah of safety: “Bismi-llahi r-rahmani r-rahim”. Everyone who heard this got relieved and said “We testify that you are the Rasul of Allah.” Anything to which Hadrat Sulaiman recites basmalah gets under the control of Sulaiman (a.s.) and Prophet Sulaiman prevailed over other nations with basmalah.
Basmalah was revealed to Hadrat Isa (Jesus) (a.s) after Hadrat Sulaiman. Hadrat Isa and his followers got relieved with basmalah.
Allah Ta'ala commanded : “O Ye Isa (Jesus) do you know which ayah is revealed to you. “Bismi-llahi r-rahmani r-rahim” is the ayah of safety, recite that a lot in your every situation; basmalah shall be at the beginning of your reading and your salah.
Whoever continues to recite it before the salah and before reading something, the angels of Munkar wa Nakir can not get him frightened, his death will be easy, his grave will not squeeze him, he reaches to the rahmah of Allah.
His grave gets nur (divine light), I (JJ) will have wake up from his grave in the day judgment with his face brightened. His balance of the good deeds in the Day of Judgment (Miizaan) will be heavier, I will complete him on the Bridge of Sirat with nour; thus he enters to the Jannah. He is called as 'You reached to saadat and magfirat (happiness and forgiveness).”
Hadrat Isa(a.s) asked “Does this only belong to me ya Rabb?”

Allah Ta'ala commanded, “It belongs to the ummah of Ahmad (alaihissalaam) after you.”

Imam Qurtubi: basmala is special to the Ummah as it stays in the AlQur'an

Bismillah
Found an old email from Ustaza Nagheba (May Allah bless her and her family abundantly, and give them openings and blessings upon blessings)

 Asalam Alaikum all,
Tomorrow night signifies the beginning of Rabi' al- Awwal the month in which the blessed prophet Muhammad was born (may Allah shower His mercy and grace upon him). On the 12th of this blessed month a great light was born to the worlds, he was to carry a great gift to mankind, Jin-Kind and even realms beyond, he was the bearer of a final, unchangeable message, a message that not only offered a way of life to humanity but offered each soul internal peace, tranquillity and proximaty to the Divine.
Allah Exalted be He tells us in the Qu'ran; 'And we did not send you except as a mercy to the worlds' These words help us understand the magnitude of the blessing of our blessed prophet's birth, through his arrival a mercy so great, so powerful penetrated not just our world but all worlds in existence. The angels recognized the great blessing of this nobel messenger Muhammad when he was raised beyond the heavens and sent salams (peace) from Allah himself (asalam alaikum aya-han Nabi- peace be upon you Oh messenger) he shared that peace with all of Gods righteous servants (as-salam alaina wa ala ibad Allah as-salahin- Peace be upon me and upon the righteous servants of God) rejoicing over the portion of Gods peace that they had recieved through the generosity of this great prophet the angels called out to all in the heavens that ....'There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger', proclaiming their belief in the messengership of this blessed being. The Jinn took his message back to their tribes uniting many factions from amongst them, the existence of the final and most perfect of messengers really was a mercy sent to all worlds. Animals and the inanimate recognised his messengership. The trunk of a tree that cried out in pain when the messenger began to deliver the Friday sermon upon a pulpit instead of standing next to the tree; the Ghazal that proclaimed his messengership when the prophet freed him from the snare of a hunter, the camel that bowed down to him honering him for his kindness and the rocks that sent him salams are but a few of the stories narrated in the books of sira that inspire us to love he who was chosen to be the most perfect of mankind. The Qu'ran tells us; 'If you love Allah then follow me (Muhammad) and Allah will love you' This verse gives us a clear methodology in how to gain His love. Love of the Divine is reserved soley for those who tread the path of his beloved Muhammad. His path is the sirat al-musaqim (the straight path) that we ask for in our five daily prayers, a path that can only be known through studying his life and how he engaged with the world around him, how he ate, slept, spoke, treated neighbours, family, friends and enemies, his life can only be known through attaching oneself with the study of sira (his biography) and shamail (his physical traits and attributes). Once his path is known to you know that knowledge is not enough to attain the love of God that you long. The path must be walked upon, embodied and become part of you, know that this path can only be Trodden through love...loving him, he (peace be upon him) who is loved by the Divine. Loving him allows his sunnah to be part of your very being, his way becomes more than historical truths it becomes a reality that illuminates your everyday life and awakens your heart.

May Allah allow this month to be a month in which we discover the greatness of our nobel messenger, a month in which we learn to walk to the Divine through the door of Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him Ukhtukum nagheba

Basmala

BismiLlahir Rahmanir Rahim

Syaitan datang mengacau anak Adam pada tiga tempat:
1)

Sayidina Ali: Demi Allah, sekiranya aku syarahkan rahsia Ba', aku perlukan 1000 unta.
Sayidina Zubayr: apabila bangun malam, beliau mengulang-ulang satu ayat 'TaHa' sehingga subuh.

Mim - maghfira

Huruf hija'iah - semua huruf besar. Huruf kecil - alif lam ha

Hijrah

The one who makes Hijra is the one who distances himself from what God has forbidden AL-HABIB ALI AL-JIFRI We should all reflect and contemplate at the beginning of every Hijri year on the wisdom inherent in the interchange between day and night, and the passing of months, we are a community which ties its calendar and its history to the Exodus of the Messenger of God ,peace and blessing be upon him. We could have based our calendar on the birth of the Messenger of God peace and blessing be upon him. ...A human being dies in the manner in which lived, and is resurrected in the manner in which he died. When a believer is aware of such meanings, he becomes an individual who can build a nation, and will be chosen by God to bring succour to the nation of Mohammed ,peace and blessing be upon him . We are close to receiving succour as a nation. perhaps many of you will see this unfold for yourselves. Let not the strutting about of the Deniers of truth through the land deceive you:  brief is their comfort, those whom God will choose to bring succour to the community will be those whose certainty regarding the news they have received from God and His Prophet, peace and blessing be upon him is greater than their certainty in the information they receive via their sensory faculties. This is something we need to be aware of: those through whom God will bring the succour which is shortly coming to this community will be those whose lives exemplify these meanings, those whose days and nights pass-by with them forsaking what God has forbidden in themselves, their spouses, their offspring and in their dealings with those around them. The Messenger of God ,peace and blessing be upon him said: “this affair will reach every place which experiences night and day, and God will not leave a dwelling made mortar or of hair except that God will cause this faith to reach it, whether by the honour of the people of honour or the abasement of the abased” . If you live these meanings, with a heart which is settled and certain of these facts, Islam will enter every house through your dignity, and if you are heedless of this, living a purely worldly existence, forgetful of your afterlife and the fact you are a Muslim who carried the responsibility of spreading goodness and faith through your good character, rectitude and lofty aspiration, the faith will still spread but will do so without you, leaving you in a lowly state, so observe your year from its very beginning and check how it passes by. O God bless this year and allow us to turn towards your presence with good works and ennoble us by accepting us and granting us rootedness in what You love and that which is pleasing to You. Hijra from the trilateral verbal root Hjr to emigrate, to disassociate, separate , part, secede, keep away, part company, to give up, renounce, forgo, avoid, to abandon, surrender, leave behind, relinquish, leave, give up, vacate. Chapter 5 (on Regular Devotions)

17.02.2007
- The hadith of 5 before 5. ~ rush before you die
Wird means regular eg fever that occurred at the same time every year or taking camel for drink every 4 days

29.01.2012
- a pivotal chapter
- Ba Alawi based on Syazili inwardly which focused in mujahadah and ghazali which is adab. The more we read ad’iya eg going in the bathroom, we noticed the time, the place, the zone we’re in. We learned the adab of life. Live constantly in Muraqabah, questioning our steps

- Do not waste time: use every minutes of our time for beneficial acts.
- imarah= to build, establish
- wazaif from wazifah = regular, responsible for,
- wirid = illness that come in regular basis,
qu’an ; hablul warid: jugular vein, blood from heart to brain - showing the health of our body
wurud; people who take water for hujjaj in Mina from mekkah
wirid - something consistent, take animal to the place of drinking, a plant that flowers in particular times every year.

-barakah = increase, something happen beyond the outward value of the thing
- by organising our time, we will get barakah in it

Allah created different awrad because we are created differently

increase baraka in your house by organising it, organise our home (think where is the television), open your door (house should always be prepared for guests)
Immense barakah in the time before fajar because from the hadith qudsi: Allah descends (‘adzim)

12/02/12

One whom Allah love, organise their time according to prayer time (moon and sun).
Al-Warid: comes from Allah, Imam Syazili: there’s different state of actions for diff state of (heart?).:Imam Ibnu ata’illah if u want to know what’s you r state with Allah, look at how much He bestowed upon you (Look at your state, did you wake up for tahajjud? An angle came every night to wake people. Imam Ali bin Hassan Al-Attas; Wirid is your physical action and inward action, warid is what flows in the heart of slave from meaning of subleties in the heart, and secret and as a result the heart and chest open up, and heart enlightened.

Reasons to take care of wirid:
- After we passed away, we can’t do the wirid
- to fulfill the rights of Allah, more imortant to fulfill Allah’s right than demand from Allah - act of servitude.
Syeikh abul Qasim Nisaburi (Nisabur; uzbekistan) Tasawuf is following the kitab and sunnah, and leaving desire and innovations and showing respect to teachers and finding excuses for your brothers and having reagular awrad and not having excuses in religion.

Habib Ali Al-Habsyi salawat: Allahumma sali ‘ala Muhammad bi lisanil jama’ah fi hadratil ‘adzimah...

Ratib is something in order (tartib)

Ibnu Ataillah, Allah knows that we will get bored, He coloured different act of worships, (When someone became muslim, he had this zeal and then after certain period he became fatara - the enthusiasm went off, and these are the one counted in Day of Judgement. Whoever at the period of lapse according to qur’an and sunnah is successful

Not everyone who pray established their prayers

Commemorating Badr

On the 17th Ramadan we commemorate the Battle of Badr, which took place on that day in the second year of the Hijrah. Allah describes it as the Day of Discrimination, the Day of the meeting of the two forces. Sayyidi al-Habib Umar bin Hafiz (may Allah preserve him) marks the event by completing the Qur'an in Tarawih on the eve of the 17th, after which there are big celebrations in Dar al-Mustafa attended by thousands. The rest of the night is spent in prayer, remembrance and supplication, since prayers are answered when the Qur'an is completed. On the following day at `Asr the poem Jaliat al-Kadr is read, in which the names of all the Companions that attended the Battle are mentioned.

The following is a summary of a recent khutbah in which Habib Umar summarised some of the lessons of Badr:[1]

He began by praising Allah and sending blessings upon the Messenger of Allah. He then enjoined people to have taqwa, attaining which is one of the aims of fasting and the wisdom behind Allah making it compulsory upon us.

The realities of taqwa which the Imam of the People of Taqwa (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and his Noble Companions possessed were made manifest in days such as these in the second year of the Hijra. In Sha`ban of that year both fasting and Zakat were made compulsory. The Prophet and his Companions then began fasting Ramadan in intense heat. On a day similar to this all those years ago your Prophet left his family and home and went out to Badr with around 313 of his Companions. Why did he go out? To give victory to the religion of Allah and to convey the message of his Lord. In spite of the heat and the difficulty of the journey he continued fasting on some days but he also broke his fast on other days.

On the expedition he shared a camel with Sayyiduna `Ali and Sayyiduna Mirtha bin Abi Mirtha and they each took it in turns to ride while the other two walked. They said to him: "O Messenger of Allah, you ride and we'll walk."

He replied (may Allah bless him and grant him peace): "Neither are you stronger walkers than me, nor am I in less need of the reward than you."

Here he taught us several lessons. He taught us a lesson in sacrifice and in negation of pride and satisfaction with one's actions. He displayed his need for the reward of Allah, in spite of the fact that even if he had ridden and let them walk he would have received the reward for their actions because he was the one that guided them to Allah. O believer, this is the Best of Creation saying: "nor am I in less need of the reward than you." Do you think you are not in need of the reward of Allah such that you leave prayers which you are able to perform or gatherings of remembrance which you are able to attend? You are in need of the reward of every action in Ramadan specifically and in the rest of your life so expend your efforts – try to reflect upon the Qur'an and to attend the gatherings of remembrance. It was the custom of the early Muslims to hold gatherings after praying Tarawih and Witr in which the attributes and etiquettes of the Chosen One were mentioned.

None of the Companions that went out expected to go into battle with Quraysh but Allah wished to ennoble those great people. The Angel Jibril later asked the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) how he and his Companions regarded the people of Badr. He replied "They are the best of us." Jibril said: "Likewise we regard the people of the heavens that attended Badr as being the best of us." They attained this rank because they gave victory to the best of people in the sight of Allah.

People naturally tend to choose that which is easier for their souls to bear but beyond that easier choice there may be something greater awaiting. If Allah then decrees something which is harder for the soul to bear the believer gains felicity by being content with the decree of Allah in the knowledge that this is better for him. Sayyiduna `Ali said: "If the veil were to be removed you would only choose what has already been decreed."

Allah promised you one of the two groups that it should be yours. You wished that the unarmed group should be yours, but Allah willed to establish the truth according to His words, and to cut off the roots of the disbelievers.[2]

The Companions succeeded because of they had the love of Allah and His Messenger in their hearts. Twelve nights of Ramadan have passed and you have not yet understood this concept. Ramadan has only come so that you can be elevated. This love is the foundation of victory and of honouring one's covenant with Allah. We witness this in the words of the Companions on the approach to Badr. The Messenger of Allah wished to hear their opinions after it had become clear what they were confronting.

Sayyiduna al-Miqdad bin al-Aswad said: "By Allah we will not say what the Children of Isra`il said to Musa: Go, you and your Lord and fight, while we sit here![3] Rather we say: Go, you and your Lord and fight, and we are with you fighting alongside you!"

Sayyiduna Sa`d bin Mu`adh said: "We believe in you and bear witness that your message is the truth. Go forth to perform what Allah has commanded. Perhaps you wished something and Allah willed something else. Make war with whoever you wish and make peace with whoever you wish and we are behind you. Take from our wealth what you wish and leave what you wish, and what you take is more beloved to us than that which you leave. By Allah, if you took us to the sea and then plunged into it, we would follow you. You have left behind people (in Medina). Our love for you is not more intense than their love." They knew that love of Allah and His Messenger was the foundation of their defence of truth and guidance. "Had they known that there would be fighting not a single man would have stayed behind... perhaps Allah will show you in us that which is a joy to your eye, O Messenger of Allah."

When the Prophet heard this his face lit up like a piece of the moon. He said: "Go forth with good tidings for Allah has promised me one of the two groups – either the caravan or the army. It is as if I can see the exact places where Quraysh will fall." He subsequently pointed out those exact places the day before the battle.

Look at the disparity between the two sides. The Muslims only had eight swords, two horses and seventy camels, each of which three people shared. The Quraysh, on the other hand, had hundreds of swords and spears, two hundred horses and they would slaughter nine or ten camels a day for food not to mention the camels that were being used to carry the army. The Quraysh approached arrogantly boasting about how they would defeat the Muslims. This is characteristic of the people of opposition to Allah, and those heedless of Him. The Muslims, however, approached in a state of humility and fear of their Lord and Allah duly raised them. Allah describes those that He loves as being humble and compassionate in their dealings with the Believers, severe in their dealings with the rejecters. They strive for the sake of Allah and are unafraid of the reproaches of those that find fault. That is the bounty of Allah, which He bestows on whom He pleases. Allah encompasses all and knows all things. [4]

In the second khutbah, after praising Allah and sending blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, Habib `Umar once again enjoined people to have taqwa. He said if you clothe yourselves in taqwa you will attain the secrets of fasting, the illumination of the night prayer and the reality of the transaction with Allah.

With true love for Allah and His Messenger you will be able fulfil the commandments of Allah and gain victory over your lower selves, over your desires and caprice, over this deceptive worldly life and over those who disbelieve from the devils of mankind and jinn.

Among the Companions were youths, some of them only fifteen or seventeen years old. One of those was Sayyiduna Harithah, who was one of the fourteen Companions martyred at Badr. His mother came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) upon his return to Medina. She asked him: "Where is my son? If he is in the Garden I will be content but if not you will see how I behave!"

The Messenger of Allah said to her: "Umm Haritha, do not be foolish – it is not one garden, but many, and your son has entered the highest garden of Firdaus!"

O people who are planning for the future, is there any future greater than this?

Let us make firm the foundation of love so that we follow the path of those Companions, may Allah be well pleased with them.

O Allah we love them for Your sake so show us their faces on the Day of Judgement and in Paradise.

Let there be nothing in our houses which displeases Your Prophet Muhammad, whether it be on our screens or in our behaviour. Help us to give this month its due and enable us to follow the Chosen One, honouring the covenant between us and You.

Invoke abundant blessings upon him because this is what will bring you close to him on that day. As he said: "The closest people to me on the Day of Judgement are the ones who invoke the most blessings upon me."

[2] Al-Anfal 8.7 What is meant by the "two groups" is the caravan led by Abu Sufayn, which the Muslims had originally set out to intercept, and the army which Quraysh sent out from Mecca. The Muslims naturally did not wish to come up against a fully equipped army.
