He threatened them and heard the qur’an properly and said ‘Anyone who says this must be worthy of worship. The man then asked him regarding that and he (RadhiyaAllahu ‘anhum) answered ‘She cooked for me my food, she washed my clothes and she raised my children.’
- Sayidina Ali went to visit Sayidina Umar RadhiyaAllahu ‘anhum one day and Sayidina Umar asked him, ‘Is it because of the ummah or private matter?’ When Sayidina Ali said it was private, Sayidina Umar blew off the candle and they chatted in the dark. RadhiyaAllahu ‘anhum.
- He was stabbed by Feiroz, the servant of Al-Mughirah. The muslims had a ‘syura’ afterwards and they called 6 kibaar to choose as a khalifah. Abdul Rahman bin Awf took himself out from the election.

Sayidina Uthman RadhiyaAllahu ‘anh

- He was born 6 year after the elephant year

- During the time of Fathul Makkah, Sayidina Ali KaramulLahu wajha went to Bani Abdu Dar of Qureisy. Talha ibnu Ubaydillah was the one holding the key for Ka’abah. Sayidina Ali unlocked the Ka’abah and muslim entered it. RasuluLLah sallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam asked Sayidina Ali to sit so that he can carry RasuluLLah to destroy the idols above Ka’abah and he said ‘Oh RasululLah, I can’t stand!’ RasuluLLah sallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam asked Sayidina Ali to put his feet on his blessed shoulder and Sayidina Ali to stood on his shoulder, and they destroyed all the idols.

Questions
- Haq is haq and cannot be compromised
- KaramulLahu wajhah is because
o He never make sujud to idols
o In the battle of Badar, they fought 3 to 3 first. Utbah, father of Hind, his brother Syaibah and his son Walid came out and asked for a people equal to them to fight. RasuluLLah sallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam said ‘Qum Ya Ali, ya Ubaidah, Ya Hamza from Bani Quraisy. Sayidina Ali killed Utbah, Sayidina Hamza killed his brother and both of them killed Walid after he wounded Ubaidah. Hind said ‘May Allah blacken his face’ to Sayidina Ali. And upon hearing this RasuluLLah sallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam said ‘KaraamaAllahu wajhah’.

Hadith 15

Hadith 15

Kareem = the best grapes, juiciest; bow down.
= dignity, honour, giving without we deserving it; overlook the fault of others
Allah is Al-Kareem

An-Nisa 36
4:36 AND WORSHIP God [alone], and do not ascribe divinity, in any way, to aught beside Him. And do good unto your parents, and near of kin, and unto orphans, and the needy, and the neighbour from among your own people, and the neighbour who is a stranger, and the friend by your side, and the wayfarer, and those whom you rightfully possess. Verily, God does not love any of those who, full of self-conceit, act in a boastful manner.
- worship Allah and then immediately to parents
- 5 types of relationship:
1) parents
2) those who are weak:
o weakness of body: yatama (orphans)
o weakness because of situation: masakin
3) those who are close by
a. blood
b. association – neighbours and companion by your side = wife, traveling by your side or those stays with you to get benefit from you
4) no connection : ibnu sabil
5) those who are possessed – slave.

Neighbours:
RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam was asked” “Who is a neighbour?” He answered: “Your neighbours are forty houses ahead of you and forty houses to your back, and forty houses to your right and forty houses to your left.”
Neighbours can be categorised into 3 categories: 1) closest by door and connection 2) muslim 3) non-muslim
- duty towards neighbour: kareem. Must be katful aza ie not harming them and ihsan towards them.
- A hadith ‘Whoever harms his neighbours has harm me and whoever harm me has harm Allah’.
- Another hadith ‘Excel your relationship with your neighbour, and you’ll be excel.’
- Kaful aza encompass do not throwing rubbish, parking straight, cutting your own lawn and not playing loud music.
- Ihsan – make sure they are okey, cut their lawn ie to show generousity, to smile at them and visit when they are sick.
- There was an early scholar who had mice in his house. His wife suggested that they buy a cat but the scholar didn’t want to as he said the mice will run to his neighbour’s house and he was afraid that Allah will raised him as those who cause harm to their neighbours.
- Somebody came to visit RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam and he went to Sayidatina A’isyah to ask wether they have food in the house. They have no food and he went to every wive’s house and they have no food. RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam went to the masjid and asked ‘who’ll look after the guest of rasululLlah?’ Some of the companions lowered their gaze as they have nothing. One companion stood up and he said he want to check first. He went back home and they put their children to sleep. When the visitor came to them, they blew out the candle and pretend that they were eating and gave all the food to the visitors. Allah revealed in the Qur’an “.. they preferred others over themselves even though they have nothing..” (59:9). This is IHSAN
- Our responsibility towards neighbour:
o If they sick visit them
o If they die, follow their janazah
o If they want loan, give
o If they have difficulty, hide their secret
o If they rejoice, be happy with them
o If something bad happened, give ta’ziya
o Don’t built house that will stop wind to their house
o If you buy fruits, give it as a gift
o If you burn fire, make sure that the smoke does not reach them

Guest
- guest is one night as said by Imam Ahmad according to the hadith “Abu Shurayh Khuwaylid ibn 'Amr al-Khuza'i said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, 'Anyone who believes in Allah and the Last Day should honour his guest as his due.' They said, 'What is his due, Messenger of Allah?' He said, 'A day and a night. Hospitality is for three days, and what is beyond that is charity.'" [Agreed upon]
- no right except traveller
- RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam cooked for visitors, sit with them, put food in their mouth.

Hadith 14

Hadith 14

- The syeikh begin by asking us who is the most influential of all people to us?
- We were asked to read Hadith 14 with ahadith 2 and 8; and find the connection: The pillars – basic arkan of islam

Biography of Abdullah ibnu Mas’ud
- He’s Sahiban Ni’am : used to keep RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam’s sandals
- Also known as Sahibus Siwak
- Owner of the secret: He’s the servant who was there when RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam get dressed.
- When RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam asked ‘who want to read qur’an in the ka’abah?’ He said yes and he was hit badly. He was the first person to read qur’an in public.
- He was reading the qur’an and RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam said ‘that is the way it was revealed’ (Ibnu Abdu).
- He became judge in Kufah
- He passed away in Madinah at Sayyidina Uthman’s time. Sayidina Uthman RadhiyaAllahu ‘anh always gave him money more than his need but when he died, he left his unmarried girls only with Surah Al-Waqi’ah (never fear poverty).

Yahillu is from halal – the blood of muslim is not permitted.
The opposite of halal is haram ie sacred eg Masjidul Haram. The angle made circle around Kaabah when hajarul aswad descended so that jin will not see it. State of sanctity - no evil jinn enter haram. When we go to Haram, we wear ihram.
Haram is because you’re not suppose to get near it eg pig, we respect the law.
Harim - wife / daughter requring protection.
Blood of a muslim is more sacred than haram, not just blood, his whole person, his life.
'La taqtulun naasu illa billati haramaAllahu illa bilhaq' - all human beings are sacred. Allah karrama bani adam.

Ath-thayibu zani
Zani – aldultery
Thayyib – marriage and consumated (inc divorcee)

Nafsu bi nafsi = soul with soul

Tariqu dinihi = leaves islam, breaks of from the group of believers.

Related to Hadith 8 ~ blood protected except when they break the right of islam ie one of these three. Hadith 14 explains hadith 8.

Importance of Lailaha illaLlah – take one into the state of sanctity of muslim blood

The story of Usamah Ibnu Zayid.
- When asked ‘who is the most beloved to you Ya RasuluLlah?’ RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam answered a few names in different occasions including Usamah.
- Khaybar was the first battle he was involved and he was very young at that time. When he round up a group of prisoners, they make fun of him because he didn’t have proper beard. Usamah fought him and when he wanted to kill him, he said syahadah. Usamah killed him. The commander didn’t want anything to do with Usamah. He went back straight to RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam. RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam hugged him and asked about the battle and Usamah told him what had happened. RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam’s face changed and Usamah said ‘he only said that to avoid being killed.’ RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam asked him ‘did you open his heart? Inni bari’un minhu (I do not want anything to do with him). Usamah said ‘I wished I had not said syahadah until that day.’
~ syahadah is the central pillar of islam.

- When some people want to become muslim but do not want to pray, RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam accept their syahadah.

- Syahadah of a person with incorrect intention is still valid.

- Sayidina Mu’az when he was sent to Yemen, RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam adviced him on da’wa:
1) you’re going to Ahlil Kitab – call them to Lailaha illaLlah Muhammadur rasuluLlah. When they have become firm in that, teach them solah.
2) Speak to people according to their intellect
3) Hadith of Jibril

-Do not kill a soul that Allah has made sacred except bil Haq ~ every soul is sacred.
-In the battle of Uhud, they had been instructed not to smite faces because Nabi Adam Alayhi Salam was created by His image (Al-Baihaqi)
Eg the word Allah’s house make it raise in status.

From the haqqul islam, these three people can be kill. Others are not mentioned eg homosexual and jihad. The three people in the hadith is example and that the main aim is to protect soul and society.

-Story of Ghamidiyah:
- a woman came to RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam and asked him to purify her. RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam answered ‘woe to you! Return to Allah.’ She answered ‘But I’ve commited aldultery’. ‘Woe to you – ask Allah to forgive you and return’. Three time she repeated and RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam repeated the same answer. On the fourth time, RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam said ‘stop! Don’t say that again. 4 times is like having four witness. Go away and have your child. After some time, she came back with her child and RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam instructed her to suckle him for 2 years. After 2 years, she came back and an Ansar volunteer to to look after the son. She was stoned to death. RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam became imam of the janazah prayer. Sayidina Umar asked him ‘you stoned her and you lead the prayer?’ RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam answered ‘she made her tawbah and if the tawbah was split among the people of Madina it will be enough for them.’ ( Muslim)
-Story of Al-Maiz whom after 4 time saying he was drunk, RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam asked him wether he’s drunk or insane?
PUNISHMENT NOT DESTROY PEOPLE BUT TO PROTECT SOCIETY
If they didn’t say it 4 times, they’ll go free.
If someone run from punishment, let him go.
- left islam and split with jam'aah. why? damages the society. tarki dinihi = act of kufr, worshipping something else

-Zina – in the qur’an: don’t even get close to La Taqrabu. Getting close is haram.
One who commits zina have punishments 3 in this dunya and 3 in akhirat
1) It takes light from face
2) It leads to poverty (not feeling enough even how rich they are)
3) Shorten their lives
4) Stench from private part in naar
5) Hisab will be very long
6) Allah will not look at them except with the eye of anger.

-Someone came to RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam and asked wether he can commit aldultery (RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam is so approachable). RasululLah SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam asked wether he would like his mother or sister to commit aldultery and the man stopped.

- The story of Al-Judani, the king who tested hadith. He asked his princess to walk with no face cover. Everyone lower their gaze except one man who came and kiss her. The king made sajadah of syukr because he just made one mistake when he’s youth ie kissing a girl.

- Allahuma tahir qalbi minal nifaq wa hassin farji minal zina.

adab

Adab (Birmingham Traditional Halaqah 2005)

- Niat
- Abu Ruqayah (Tamim Ad-Dari) :
o he was a very devout Christian who spend all night in ibadah.
o He came to Madinah with candles (at that time, they don’t really need lights because lights come out from their fingers.) He walked into the masjid, RasuluLLah sallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam make du’a ‘May Allah illuminate you. If I have an unmarried daughter, I’ll marry her to you.’ A sahabi stand up ‘I have a daughter, I’ll marry her to him.’ (He was very poor!) He hasn’t embrace Islam yet but he embraced Islam straightaway.
He had 2 set of clothes. One in which he put it at night.
He prayed all night and sometimes finishes the whole qur’an. Sometimes, he just recite one ayah for the whole night. He’ll cry and go to the masjid crying.
Only 18 ahadith were narrated by him.
For every solah, he made du’a against dajjal.
He died at 40 A.H. after the death of Sayidina Utman Ibnu Affan.
He left to Syam to stay away from fitnah and was buried there.

-

On the authority of Tamim Al-Dari that the Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, said:
"Religion is nasihah." We said: "To whom?" The Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, said: "To Allah and His Book, and His messenger, and to the leaders of the Muslims and their common folk."
Nasihah is a purifying process for honey; also means to embroid – embroidery.
Nasihah to a person means to give him exactly what’s required at the situation.

Adab = respect; manners (including parking at its correct place)

LilLah
-Allah loves is compulsory for those:
1) love and hate for Allah (we love the non-believer because they can become muslim)
2) visit each other because of Allah
3) those who spend for Allah’s sake
4) those who sit together for Allah’s sake

Likitabihi
- all the rights of Qur’an

Adab
- adib means literate person and the most adib is RasuluLLah sallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam, in his amount and manners. When he speaks, sometime he repeat, he face towards people and sometime he moved his hands.

Adab to Allah
- in walking, with every right steps have hope in Allah and with every left step have fear in Allah.
- To call him: do’a; if we need – we need Allah eg in Surah Al-A’raf OdAAoo rabbakum tadarruAAan wakhufyatan innahu la yuhibbu almuAAtadeena
7:55 Call on your Lord with humility and in private: for Allah loveth not those who trespass beyond bounds
- Adab in supplication
o Do’a out of the house BismilLah Amantu BilLahi tawakaltu ‘alaLlah wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa BilLah
o Allah is shy ie He leaves something behind and doesn’t want to do something eg He doesn’t want to punish someone who is 70 years or older because they spend so many years serving Him
o Du’a will be answered by Allah
§ Straight away
§ Or He’ll avert bala’
§ Or He’ll give something better in akhirah.
Habib Ali Al-Habsyi said that if a thing in du’a is delayed, maybe the delay is what you want.
o When you ask something, ask with lutf wal afiah wa salahi aqibah (Imam Al-haddad) Lutf means subtle kind of gentleness. Afiah is well-being eg Sayidina Urwah radiyaLlahu ‘anh whose leg have been chopped while he’s praying.. Salahi aqibah means what follows after ie the consequence of life in akhirah.
o Du’a should be made in the time of shiddah and good time. “be aware of Allah in good state and He’ll remember you in bad state”.
o Allah is angry when we didn’t make du’a
o Don’t make du’a against anyone because you’ll give them victory (Hadith). Eg if the government is your enemy, even if you’re oppressed, you’re closer to Allah.
o There’s a particular angle who’s particular job is to make du’a for those who make du’a for someone else (du’a fi zahril gharib).. amen, and for him as well.

- Etiquette with the qur’an (Kitab at-tibyan) as zikir and improve tawheed
1) Ikhlas
Bring in the heart that you’re speaking to Allah and remember that Allah can see you.
2) Clean the mouth with siwak (sunnah: more than 4 fingers and less than a span length of the miswak, better wet, hold with 2 fingers at the bottom and three on top and do a figure of 8 three times.) With the intention to follow the sunnah and the command of RasuluLLah sallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam, to clean your mouth to read the word of Allah, to purify the smell of mouth, to whiten your teeth and cleanliness.
3) Have wudhu
4) Chose appropriate place eg in masjid (place of prostration). If you’re on the road, the level of concentration is less as we have to observe the adab of tariq first. (there’s 2 type of salawat; 1 with concentration where we’ll receive salaam back from RasuluLLah sallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam and 2 if no concentration, angle will deliver it.)
5) Sitting with adab and facing the qiblah (RasuluLLah sallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam lied his head on Sayidatina Aishah’s lap while reciting)
6) audzubilLah
7) basmallah
8) humility and pondering
9) repeating of verse – Abu Ruqayah ad-dahri can read one verse for the whole night
10) weeping – as witness, or try to cry, or cry if you’re not crying as your heart is too hard – so great calamities

Intention:
- Himma: if … for eg a man of Banu Israel wished that he had a mountain of gold so that he can give sadaqah. Allah gave busyra through ther prophet.
- Azzam:
- Hajiz: concern
Habib Abdullah AL-Haddad said that intention can be either good (ukhrawi) or fasad
According to Imam Nawawi, the reason for intention can be
1) to get reward – like a businessman
2) scared, out of fear
3) shy and love: this is the highest level.

Adab with RasuluLLah sallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam (Ashshifa of Qadi Iyad – Maliki)
- think about our relationship with him. Nabi Adam Alayhi al-Salaam was called Abu Muhammad
1) believe in him
2) obey him – “ati’uLlah wa at’ur rasool”
3) follow the sunnah outwardly and inwardly – ibadah and adaah, always begin with basmalah, do not do anything unless you knw how to do it. Eg dab of getting dress, right first with the intention of covering awrah ‘Allahummas tur ‘awrati’
4) obligation to give salawat. ‘Salawat is the only thing promised acceptance by Allah’ (Ibnu Hajar)

Adab li aimatil muslimin
- to obey them

Adab towards masyaikh – from the book of mourid (Adab solloukul murid),
-mourid is the one who wants jannah;
-a person is not a mourid unless he finds in the qur’an what he wishes for ie find the pleasure in qur’an
- he know the different between increase and decrease, if he decrease, he pick himself straight away
- he doesn’t need the servant of Allah
- for him gold and dust are the same
- he observe the limit, keep promise and content when deprive
- he search for a syeikh and not surrender himself until he found someone who can fit the description of syeikh and accept him whole-heartedly
(the description of syeikh:)
1) follow the sunnah and syariah
2) istiqamah in hal (state)
3) heart gathers on him and firm
- if you don’t find a syaikh, concentrate on holding fast in pleasing Allah.
- Sometimes the syeikh took care of the student without the student knew about it eg Syeikh Abu Bakar Bin Salim who took care of his student in Morocco and the other one: Syeikh of Kurdi who settled in Mekah with his wife. He took some time off from his wife and went to Inad where he met Syeikh Abu Bakar Bin Salim. He knew that Al-Kurdi’s wife was fine and he taught her how to treat his wife…
- Adaab with syeikh: have adab with Allah

‘Khiyar quraish, khiyarun naas, shirarun quraish, khairu shirarun naas’ (the best of the best and the worst is the best of the worst)

-Syeikh told us two stories and asked us to find
a) lesson from the stories
b) connection from the two stories
1) Quraish have 4 kids: Abdul Dar, Abdul, Abdul Uzza and Abdul Manaf. Khuzaah, the chief in Mekkah became weak, he called his step-brother from Syria to Mekkah to lead the people. Qusayy came and he went to sort the people who make bid’ah. They don’t allow people to go out unless they’ve given permission to do so. Khuzaah was threatened. Qusayy built a house called Darul Nadwah and it was the first in Makkah. It was a place for people to gather and talk. He brought lots of tribes into the city. When he died, he asked Abu Dar to lead. Abdul Manaf was cleverer, more beautiful and have the light than Abu Dar. Both of them died. Abdul Dar’s kids were not the best people in the tribe. Abdul Manaf’s kids decided to take over the power. They brought a bowl of perfume to Kaabah and said whoever placed their hands in the perfume, they’re amongst them and then they caress the stone (The Mutayyibin). Abdul Dar’s children came with a bowl of blood. They have decided to kill each other and after discussion, they decided to split power. This was the first written agreement in Arab.
2) There was a merchant from Yemen who sold something to a person from Bani Salim who refused to pay the correct price. The mutayyibin said they’ll protect the merchant and they made an agreement to protect the merchant. RasuluLLah sallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam with Abu Talib and Abu Bakar RadhiyaAllahu ‘anhum was there too. ‘This is a blessed agreement, if I have to do it again, I will.”
Lessons from the stories:
- agreement brings unity. It is very important to honour contract.
- ‘Hikmah is a lost property of Muslims’ (Hadith)
- Mutayyibin: close to RasuluLLah sallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam. Da’wa start with the people nearest to you.
Connection to stories

In the year of elephant, Abdul Mutalib married with a girl called Halah from Banu Zuhrah and he married Abdullah to Amina on the same day.

Mu’jizat Nabi SallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam when he was born:
- he raised his head and pointed his right finger.
- Nur emanates from him to rights and left
- There’s a voice saying ‘rahimukumulLah’ when he sneezed
- Persian fire went off
- All the idols in Kaabah felt on their faces

Hadith 13

Hadith 13

“La Yu’minu ahadukum hatta yuhibbu li akhihi ma yuhibbu linafishi”
(Rawah Bukhari & Muslim)

Biography of Anas Bin Malik RadhiyaAllahu ‘anh
-His mother is Ummu Sulaim RadhiyaAllahu ‘anha, amongst the first woman from Madinah Al-munawarah that embraced Islam in the hand of Mus’ab Ibnu Umair RadhiyaAllahu ‘anh. She became muslim and her husband didn’t embrace Islam, and to his annoyance the mother taught his son. He left the house and was killed on the street – Sayidina Anas RadhiyaAllahu ‘anh became orphan.
His mother then married to Abu Talhah with the mahar of him becoming muslim. Ummu Sulaim gave Anas (10 years old) RadhiyaAllahu ‘anhum to RasuluLLah sallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam as a servant until he SalaLlahu ‘alaihi wa alihi wassalam died (10 years after hijrah).
-RasuluLLah sallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam was never discontent with him, not even a single harsh word addressed to him RadhiyaAllahu ‘anh.
- When Ummu Sulaim RadhiyaAllahu ‘anha brought him to RasuluLLah sallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam, he made a du’a “O Allah! Increase his wealth and walad and make his life long and forgive his sin” ~ He have 125 children when he died in which 123 were boys. He died on 93 A.H. when he was 103 years old. He was the last companion that died. He passed away in Basra and before he died he put RasuluLLah sallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam’s hair in his tongue and be buried with it.
- Advice Nabi sallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam to him:
‘Shall I give you three beneficial things?’ ‘By mother, by my father, tell me Ya RasuluLlah.’ ‘When you meet someone of my nation, give salaam, your life will be long; when you enter house, give salam; and pray the solat Dhuha, it is the solat of returning to God’. (Shuffling your feet before entering house is also sunnah).
- He narrated 1028 ahadith.

------
Iman: 6 pillars
We reach imaan by islam ~ it takes action to reach realization
‘la yu’minu’ – total iman : iman not complete.
Eg ‘When an adulterer commits adultery, then he is not a believer at the time he is doing it, and when a drinker of wine drinks it, then he is not a believer at the time of drinking it, and when a thief steals, then he is not a believer at the time of stealing, and when a robber robs, and the people look at him, then he is not a believer at the time of doing robbery.’ (Sahih Bukhari) ie he’s a muslim without iman at the moment he commits zina – until he make tawbah.
- One of the sahabah said iman is like qamis – you put it on, you pull it off.
- Ibnu Abbas RadhiyaAllahu ‘anh said the light of iman have been taken from him

-You love for your brother what you love for yourself.
-define by shari’ah
- everything that’s beneficial

- brother: akhi have 2 different meanings
1) grammatical reason: ‘innamal mu’minuna ikhwatun’. Ikhwan: share the same blood
2) ‘yuhibbu linaas’ different rawah.

------
Istinbat:
1) I don’t want to be better than you. Never looking down to anybody.
‘We reserve the abode of the Hereafter for those who do not seek exaltation on earth, nor corruption. The ultimate victory belongs to the righteous.’ (Al-Qasas 28:83)
2) Ummah as one body – be connected
3) Define relationship of non-muslim with us. You want them to be muslim. Compassion and passion for them.
4) Characteristic: how we deal with our brothers. People of Madinah have affection that they want to give everything to muhajireen.
A guest came to RasuluLLah sallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam and he’s very hungry. RasuluLLah sallaLlahu alayhi wa alihi wassalam tried to find food in every wife’s house but there’s no food. He brought his guest to the masjid but no one have food. One of the companion went back home and found that they have a little food, so he invited the guest and when the guest came, they blew their candle off so that the guest couldn’t see that they’re not eating..
In the battle of Yarmouk, some companions were dying and they’re thirsty. But when they heard other people requested drink, they asked for others to be given drink first.. and it goes round to the first person who asked but he had passed away.

Hadith 12

Hadith 12 (07.05.05)

‘Min husni islaamil mar’I tarkuhu ma laa ya’nih’
Min husnil islaam is to leave what doesn’t concern you.

Define by Islam – hayat & mu’ajah (way –livelihood etc.) connected to returning to him (ma’ad).

Hassan Al-Basri said that we met people – these people are more concern about time than dirham and dinar.

The essence is to remember that you’re going to die!

5 questions for every word we speak:
1. why did you said it? What is part of your concern?
2. Did it benefit you?
3. Would it be harmful if you didn’t say?
4. If you stay silent, will you be safe from its consequences?
5. If you said tasbih, tahlil, tahmid wouldn’t you have more benefit?

-To speak good or silence
-La taghdab – don’t be angry
-La yu’minu ahadukum hatta yuhibbu li akhihi ma yuhibbu linafsihi

Someone talk rubbish because Allah have disgrace him! Signs that Allah have rejects him is when he talk what didn’t bother him.

When your heart became hard, your body weaken, your rizq lessen ~ you’re involved in what doesn’t concern you.

3 things that increase your intteligence:
1) sitting with scholars
2) sitting with saliheen
3) leave what doesn’t concern you
